Fix the dye on a fabric
We recommend using the following procedure, but if you are using a commercial fixer, follow the instructions given by the merchant.
- Before washing your fabric in a small batch, be sure to wash colored fabrics separately to avoid any color transfer.
- Use cold water.
- Use a detergent that does not contain bleaches or harsh chemicals.
- When washing the fabric for the first time we suggest adding a cup of white vinegar and a cup of coarse salt with your detergent to your wash tub filled with water. Vinegar and coarse salt help set the dye and prevent the color from bleeding.
By following these washing instructions, you should be able to set the dye on your fabric and keep the color vibrant and vibrant for a long time.
